Can DNS or IP leaks occur with Atlas VPN?

  • Updated

VPN increases security by changing your virtual location to the location of the server you are connected to. To prevent DNS or IP leaks, Atlas VPN employs sophisticated anti-leak protection.

However, some devices might still encounter an issue with DNS changes due to the device being cached up or missing some important hardware updates.

To check if your connection to the Atlas VPN server is secure and successful, we highly recommend running the "Extended test" on this website. If the results of the test show the location of the server you are connected to, congratulations, you are all set to browse safely!

If you see any information resembling your original location, try the following steps to solve this issue:

  1. Clear the cache of your browser.
  2. Try switching the connection protocol to WireGuard® or IPSEC/IKEv2 in the settings of the Atlas VPN app.

  3. Try testing a few different servers in the Atlas VPN application.
