Installing Atlas VPN on iOS

In this guide, we will go through the installation process of the Atlas VPN application on devices running iOS, this includes iPhones and iPads. This app is a simple way to secure your internet traffic and bypass various geo-restrictions on your iOS devices.

Note: The Atlas VPN application requires iOS 14 or newer.

Downloading and installing the app

 

1. Head to the App Store and look up Atlas VPN. Alternatively, you can use this link while you're on your iOS device to be automatically redirected to the app page on the App Store.

2. Once you see the app, click on the Get button to install the app. You may be asked to confirm this action by using your Face ID/Touch ID or your Apple ID password.

3. The installed app will appear on your home screen, tap on it to launch the Atlas VPN application. When you first open the app, you will be presented with a Privacy Notice, tap on Accept & Continue to access the app.

Logging in

 

1. In order for you to use the Atlas VPN application, you would need to sign in. You can either press Get Started or Existing User? Sign In.

2. Enter your registered email address and open the confirmation email you receive in your email inbox.

3. Once you open the confirmation email, tap on the button Confirm sign-in.

4. Upon successful login, you will be redirected to the application.

Once you are logged in with an account that has a premium subscription, you will gain access to all of the server locations that we offer. If you wish to purchase a premium subscription, you can do so directly via the Atlas VPN website, or via the App Store by tapping the lightning bolt icon to open the Subscription tab.

 

 

Connecting

 

1. There are two options to connect to a VPN server:

    • Clicking the Quick Connect button. This will connect you to your preferred server or a suitable server, which will be selected based on a few criteria, such as the distance to the server and the server load.

    • Clicking on a specific country in the list of servers. This will connect you to a server within the chosen area.

2. When connecting to a server for the first time, you will get a prompt asking to add VPN configurations to your device. Tap Allow, as this is necessary so that the Atlas VPN app could create and manage a VPN tunnel.

3. After you connect to a VPN server, the connection status in the application will change to protected.

4. To disconnect from a server, you will need to click the same Quick connect button once again.

 

 

App settings overview

 

Navigate to the Settings page by tapping the cogwheel icon on the bottom right of the app screen, and then tap on General. You will see a few features there - Auto-Connect, Quick-Connect Options, Kill SwitchImprove Me.

Here is a quick rundown of the options:

    • Auto-Connect - with this feature enabled, the Atlas VPN application will be automatically connected to the selected location after launching.

    • Quick-Connect Options - you can choose how the Quick-Connect feature will pick out a server to connect to. There are three options: fastest connection, nearest location, and preferred connection, which will connect you to a specific location of your choice.

    • Kill Switch - this feature will disable the internet connection on your device if the VPN connection is unexpectedly interrupted. This ensures that no unsecured browsing can occur until the connection to a VPN server is restored.

    • Improve Me - gathers basic information about the app for our developers such as errors and crash reports. No information is gathered outside the application in accordance with our strict no-logs policy.

By clicking on the Assistant option at the bottom left of the Atlas VPN application, you can find the SafeBrowseData Breach Monitor, and Protect my devices features.

    • SafeBrowse - provides an extra layer of privacy while surfing the web. It protects you from Phishing, Spyware, Ransomware, CryptoJacking, and prevents you from accessing malicious websites while browsing online. 

    • Data Breach Monitor - a security feature designed to track any data breaches related to your online accounts. It automatically scans leaked databases and informs you of any past or recent breaches where your personal information was exposed.

    • Protect my devices - helps to access the Atlas VPN app on different devices. After clicking on Send me a link, you will get an email containing download links for all available platforms.
